Finding Courage in Difficult Times … Sometimes Easier Said Than Done!

What is courage? So many famous quotes! I’ve always been a visual person … every picture tells a story (Rod Stewart, 1971). My favorite quote by any human being that has walked the face of this earth is Maya Angelou!

My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive, and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.

Where does it come from? Nature? Nuture? Resilience? I surely don’t know. I try to find it when I can. Sometimes it’s buried in the depths of my enemy, fear. Sometimes its buried right on the surface with the angels flying above me, strength. Sometimes, I have to grab it from the depths of my soul and scream, holler, and yell. Whatever it takes! Whatever it Takes! My heart and soul rarely steer me wrong. I just have to get out of my own ways, listen, and get back up off the floor again.

Humor is a great tool. It’s hard for me to find sometimes. Sometimes it comes across in sarcasm…which never works out well for me! Sometimes it comes out in loving kindness … the best way I find! Sometimes not at all! That’s when I struggle the most! As my ever-present friend Maya says:
