I Choose To Shatter Great Expectations
Poetry Prompt: I Choose
I choose
to change my way of thinking
get out of COVID’s messy stinking
abandon constant exhaustipation
give a shite, chase out hesitation
I choose
to change my way of living
become more forgiving
more outwardly focused
swarm amongst the locusts
I choose
to change my very behavior
no more looking for a savior
forsake sins casually committed
final verdict — judgment acquitted
I choose
to live by the Urban Dictionary
all else presents as ordinary
sow seeds that construct a castle
why discern life as such a hassle
I choose
peace and loving-kindness
eliminate walking in blindness
get off my arse and find it
stop wasting time, your royal highness
