Introducing Jan E (janny’s heart)
Consulting Editor
After working for over three decades in community mental health and child welfare settings, Jan decided to attempt retirement. As an editor of Illumination, Illumination-Mirror, and SYNERGY, she writes short stories and poetry about life and stories about life lessons and considers herself a lifetime learner.
Jan’s career is diverse. She spent years reinventing herself and auditioning for new careers. Legal Secretary, Flight Attendant (sky goddess), Adjunct Professor, Chief Executive Officer, Consultant. She spent her professional career working with vulnerable children and families and her personal life raising two incredible children. Now she enjoys working part-time, visiting her children and grandchildren, and helping raise a 14- and 15-year-old. It is a whole new world.
I can share volumes about my professional life. These days I’m more interested in reading, learning, and writing! I love being a part of the Illumination family. It’s given a whole new meaning to my life. I found my passion again. I’m motivated by reading so many talented writer’s works and becoming a better writer and editor. It’s a great experience to grow individually and watch so many others as they grow and thrive.
